Hendersonville
Seventh-day Adventist Church has recorded an all-time high Annual Sacrifice Offering, achieving an
increment of about 80 per cent despite the financial hardships that came with
the Coronavirus directives.
According to the Global Mission news, Hendersonville SDA, a congregation in the U.S
state of North Carolina collected $37,685 Annual Sacrifice
Offering for the concluded year 2021 as opposed to $21,079 the
previous year 2020.
Pastor Ted Wilson, the President of the
Seventh-day Adventist General Conference and leader of the world church hailed
the congregation of 700 at Hendersonville SDA for realising the privilege of
sacrificially supporting the Three Angels' Message.
“[It is] a privilege for each of us to
sacrificially share what God has given to us, as have the Hendersonville members,
for the good of His church in proclaiming the three angels' messages with Holy
Spirit power" Global Mission quoted.
How
the church increased the annual sacrifice Offering
In 2016, a lady church member invited two
pastors at Hendersonville SDA when the church's Annual Sacrifice Offering was
still $1,400 a year and told the pastors the story behind the offering.
She explained how the offering began in
1922 to support missionaries all over the world who had run out of funding,
pausing a threat withdrawing from missions at a time the Three Angels Message
was needed in a world where other churches were rushing to win followers.
The Hendersonville SDA pastor David Wright told Adventist Mission that
he delivered several series of sermons and a week of prayer leading up to the
Annual Sacrifice Offering which falls in November.
The result was $24,119 in 2016 but went on
decreasing from $22,381 in 2017, $21,719 in 2018, $17,202 in 2019, and
ironically increased to $21,079 in 2020 after the Coronavirus directives that
hit finances of individuals and economies.
Last year, with a big decrease in the
church-going church members, the few available members managed to hit the
greatest record in the history of this church to $37,545 an increment of nearly
80 percent from the previous year.
Since the change in 2016, the church has
offered over $144000 like the number stated in Revelation 7:4 of those who were
sealed of all the tribes of Israel.
