Zelensky turns to the Vatican ahead of Pope’s consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Roman Catholic Virgin Mary

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has talked to the Vatican leader Pope Francis ahead of the consecration of his country and Russia to the Roman Catholic Virgin Mary scheduled for 25th March 2022.

Zelenskyy who has been virtually going around the world soliciting support against the Russian invasion of his country this time cited mediation and prayer from the head of the Roman Catholic Church.

“The mediating role of the Holy See [the Roman Catholic Church as an entity] in ending human suffering would be appreciated” he said in a tweet today.

The virtual head of state Zelensky said that they discussed humanitarian challenges which he said are brought by the Russian troops and thanked Pope Francis for praying for peace.

“[We] talked about the difficult humanitarian situation and the blocking of rescue corridors by Russian troops, ... thanked for the prayers for Ukraine and peace” he tweeted today.

The Roman Catholic grand day of the consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the virgin Mary to bring peace by pope Francis will be held at St. Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican.

Former Pope Benedict will also join the consecration, according to the National Catholic Register report on 21st March 2022.

"Of course, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI will join Pope Francis' call in prayer with regard to the consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary,” the National Catholic Register reported.

The whole Roman Catholic Church in the world and others who pay reverence to the Pope for his acts of the common good will join in to consecrate the countries in turmoil to Virgin Mary to bring about peace.

“The Vatican has confirmed that the Pope has asked all bishops of the world to join him in the consecration” the National Catholic Register reported.

Reports say that the Roman Catholic Church bishops in Ukraine urgently requested their holy father to dedicate a day of prayer to the Virgin Mary to bring about peace in the war-ravaged Ukraine.

“Pope Francis agreed to conduct the consecration of the two countries in response to an urgent request from the Latin rite bishops of Ukraine” the National Catholic Register said.

The Roman Catholic Church see and delight in their pope as a world spiritual and political leader and in their Easter Blessing Magazine of this year, they call him “a global leader, an international diplomat”

The Seventh-day Adventist Church also dedicated a Sabbath at the breakout of the war and prayed for Ukraine.
