Ireland preacher who was prosecuted for speaking against homosexuality has said he will not retract his opinions against homosexuality even before prosecutors and judges in court.
The case against the three preachers who call themselves Salvation on the Streets is to be heard today 13th October 2021 in Dundalk District Court in the county town located on the Castletown River in Ireland’s Louth County.
The News Letter reported that one Ryan Williamson said that he was firm on his convictions against homosexuality and would return to Dundalk where he was arrested after serving the punishment if convicted.
“That is out of the question - I can’t retract it, it is God’s word. I will go anywhere the Lord is leading me.” Ryan Williamson told News Letter today ahead of the hearing.
Williamson from Loughbrickland said that people in Dundalk where his group was arrested preaching against homosexuality are thirsty for the Gospel and have no problem with the message against homosexuality.
“Generally the feedback is very good. It would be one of my favourite places for preaching. Although in every town there are those that really hate it, then there are those that are neutral”
Ryan Williamson, 44, Robert Ervine, 34, and Sean Paul Tully, 43, were arrested in Dundalk town on 21st September 2021 preaching in public, airing out their opinions against homosexuality referring to the Bible.
The police, (called the Gardai in this country) did not want the message against homosexuality and asked them to stop speaking against the subject but the trio refused and police arrested the group.
They were charged with public order offences, the crimes to be leveled against them today in the courts of law.
