Some of the senior leaders in Scott Morrison's government in Australia have thrown in the towel to support the ongoing protests against mandatory vaccination at Parliament House in Canberra.

According to the local newspaper The Canberra Times, three senators have publicly declared their support for the demonstration on this first day of the demonstrations 31st January 2022.

“Senators Gerard Rennick and Alex Antic, along with north Queensland MP George Christensen, have all publicly backed a national convoy to Canberra in protest of mandatory jabs” Canberra Times reported today.

It’s not yet established how many other senior or lower members of the government that imposed stringent Covid rules have crossed to the demonstrators’ side without publicly declaring it.

Senator Alex Antic went ahead to blame the so-called mainstream media for conspiring with the government to keep the public uninformed of the worldwide movement against the oppressive Covid restrictions.

"The mainstream media doesn't want you to know, but the brave Canadian Freedom Convoy has inspired a worldwide movement," Senator Antic wrote on his Facebook page.

The demonstrators want the removal of all Covid-related restrictions including directives which as far as violating medical rules such as vaccination mandates and medical segregation.

The Canberra Time reported that demonstrators are ready to stay at Parliament House until parliament sitting on 8th February 2022.

The Canberra Freedom Convoy 2022 demonstrations have inspired politicians to join from both the opposition and the ruling government.

On the eve of the demonstration on Sunday, Australian United Party (UAP) pledged their support for the demonstrations and willingness to join.

Today, Sally Rugg, a rights activist and pro-vaccines in Australia, sarcastically asked on her Twitter handle: “Will Scott Morrison tell the anti-vax truck convoy that they’re lucky to be able to protest without being shot at?

It’s still early to project what will happen within this week of demonstration in Australia but one can see that the demonstrations have gathered much support in Morrison’s country which suffered some of the most draconian covid rules in the world.
