The 25-year-old young man born of Roman Catholics got baptised last Sabbath at the end of a week of prayer organised by youths that saw 30 people get baptised in Lake Malawi.

“How I wish my parents receive the Adventist message and believe like I did!” he told Faith Reporters on Wednesday 23rd March 2022.

Tembo, who had never read from the book of Revelation and or Daniel or heard it in his church said that he was compelled to believe the Adventist message because of the Three Engels Message in Revelation 14.

“I was particularly touched by the way the preacher explained the book of Revelation chapter 14. I had never heard anyone at our church read from that book and I had never thought there is such an amazing message” he said.

The security guard at a local government entity in his area attended all the sermons now wants to preach to his parents to know about the Adventist Message.

He added that in his former church he has never seen any of their leaders reading a book of Revelation and Daniel as experienced during the week of prayer.

Although Tembo has never tested alcohol, smoking or gambling, he said that his spiritual life was stunted because of not knowing the Adventist message he attended throughout the week of prayer.

“I had never dreamt of becoming an Adventist. It was my first time to attend Adventist sermons and I realized that I have been missing a lot in my spiritual life and I was about to miss salvation” he said.

The church at Nkhata Bay in Northern Malawi has so far had two baptisms in three months.

While the world was silent in covid orders in November 2021, Nkhata Bay and surrounding churches carried out an evangelisation effort and baptised over 70 converts at a time when it was a violation of covid social distancing to baptise.

This time, the church baptised 30 converts in Lake Malawi and is preparing an evangelisation effort later this year, according to Elder Peter Nkaombe at Nkhata Bay.
