Trump returns to Washington for first time since leaving office

The former president is headed back to DC for the first time since Joe Biden took office and will be giving a speech to conservative think tanks the “America First Policy Institute.”


“I believe it will be a very policy-focused, forward-leaning speech, very much like a State of the Union 5.0,” said the group’s president Brooke Rollins.

Pope apologizes for Catholicism’s ‘evils’ in Canada


Pope Francis is on a six-day apology tour of Canada asking forgiveness from Indigenous people for the Catholic Church’s participation in the Residential School system.

“I humbly beg forgiveness for the evil committed by so many Christians against the Indigenous peoples,” the Pope said of the schools which have been labeled “genocidal” by the Canadian government.

Canada separated Indigenous children from their families and sent them to these boarding schools which were operated up until 1969, some of them by the Catholic Church.

Oil Prices On The Rise Again Amid European Supply Concerns

EURO-FIRES: Forests Ablaze on Czech-German Border



The wildfires began in a Czech national park and have engulfed around 30 hectares of forests. (Reuters)

Both nations have deployed emergency services and they suspect the fire began when a tourist failed to extinguish a campfire.

They had managed to bring the flames under control until changing winds, fuelled by the ongoing heatwave, swallowed Europe.
