While
many churches around the world are not allowed to baptize and preaching is still restricted due to Coronavirus directives, the Church in Malawi has resumed both.
The 2-week gospel preaching at Nkhata Bay ended with Baptism in Lake Malawi. |

Reporters has learnt that last Sabbath at Nkhata
Bay Seventh-day Adventist Church of North Malawi Conference baptized 14 new
converts into the church after over a year of restriction against public preaching and baptism.
The baptism conducted by Pastor Mhango of Nkhata Bay District
was preceded by 14-day public preaching by Pastor D Kamanga from 16th –
30th October 2021 in this southern African country.
Elder Steve Nkosi of Nkhata Bay told Faith Reporters on
Wednesday 3rd November 2021 that no sooner the government
allowed small gatherings than the church organized the public gospel preaching.
“The government allowed gatherings of people between 50 and 200 at a
time the church really longed for ‘efforts’ evangelism. We organized 200 in the
church and 200 outside and the evangelism was really blessed by the Lord” said
Elder Nkosi.
Elder Peter Nkaombe at the same Church told Faith Reporters
on Thursday 4th November 2021 that the church in Malawi is
“Praising God because Malawi has eased the restrictions”, enabling gospel
preaching.
He added that it was a challenge for the foot soldiers to do
the door-to-do evangelism compared to what it used to be.
“During the day, we could go door to door then conduct the
public ‘effort’ evangelism from 6pm-8pm but there was a big challenge as
residents hesitated to receive us into their homes” Elder Nkaombe said.
Next week, Faith Reporters will bring you the testimony of a family that believed and got baptised during this Baptism, by the Grace of God.
