Australia Freedom Convoy 2022 to Canberra, all you need to know

Australians and the world are expecting the arrival of the convoy of demonstrators from all directions of the country to Canberra on Monday 31st January 2022 at 10am local time.

The Federal capital Canberra and Sydney, Australia’s largest see are set to witness the second of the world demonstrations against vaccination mandates after the ongoing Canadian demonstration that started Saturday.

But in a country where many trucks are not privately owned and the owners are not ready to distance themselves from the government, Australians have decided to drive their cars along with the available trucks.

It is not yet established how long the convoys can be all together but Faith Reporters has learnt that there are four convoys and some as long as more than 70 miles.

Among them is one that left came from Cairns and left Glenrowan Service Centre at 9:45pm local time, passing through Brisbane and Gold Coast in this nation in the Pacific and Indian oceans.

The second convoy from Cairns is expected to arrive later this week with the second wave of demonstrators especially from Gold Coast who were not able to prepare for Monday on time.

The demonstrations' funds are remaining with AUD50,000 to hit the target of AUD200,000, according to the GoFundMe platform.

Australian opposition political party, the United Australia Party, has expressed willingness to join the demonstrations, attracting debate as to whether the party will not politicise a people’s civil disobedience.

Many are suggesting that party leaders can join as individuals and not be given a platform to speak to the demonstrators so as to keep the demonstration a people’s thing.

Apparently, the government has scraped a directive it had imposed on the public, necessitating proof for vaccination for even indoor sport activities.

It is likely that the removal of this directive will attract people into indoor sports activities they have been longing for other than joining the demonstrations.

The Margaret Basket Ball Association wrote on their Facebook page: “This means it’s business and basket as usual from tomorrow January 31 [the grand day of the first demonstration in Canberra”

The Freedom Convoy 2022 campaign has already spread all over Europe and the Americas, with people protesting vaccination mandates for workers.

So far, Netherlands and Germany are on the verge of demonstration in their capitals after Canada and Australia, the two countries among those that suffered stringent restrictions.

A European Union demonstration is expected in Belgium’s Brussels in mid-February.
