| 2024 Population census map. Faith Reporters wants to evangelize in Kigezi, Ankole, Rwenzori, Tooro and Bunyoro, regions with less adventist message. |
Faith Reporters Ministry requests your support to preach the Three Angels' Message in Uganda using media, particularly in the regions of Ankole, Kigezi, Rwenzori, Tooro, and Bunyoro in Western and South-Western Uganda.
Introduction
Ugandans have a strong reliance on the media. Some preachers urge listeners to touch their radios to receive prayers. There are posters of information everywhere. People carry radios with them to listen to broadcasts. Media content takes the biggest part of citizens’ time.
Due to the lack of truth in the media, Satan has not found it necessary to corrupt authorities to impose restrictions on media content, as has occurred in some neighbouring countries. This presents a significant opportunity for us to evangelise Uganda through media before any such restrictions are enacted.
Historical Background
Western Uganda has had limited exposure to the Seventh-Day Adventist message since the arrival of missionaries in 1928, half a century after the Roman Catholics had arrived in this East African country. This region was home to resistant tribes that only yielded to the Roman Catholics and the Anglican Church after humiliating defeats and consistent persecution that claimed the lives of local kings and chiefs until the early 1900s.
When the SDA Church arrived in 1928, restrictions had already been established in the guise of preventing religious conflicts among the population. Adventists were pushed and limited to a few areas. Access to the people in Western Uganda was limited until the 1950s, when the SDA Church found a more favourable situation to establish a medical mission school in South-Western Uganda.
At that time, the elite in Western Uganda had already embraced Anglicanism, while the majority of the population had been assimilated into Catholicism, a situation that persists today.
Current situation
Today, this extensive area covers over 45,000 km², nearly twice the size of Rwanda, with a population of over 12 million people. Among them, 214,255 (1%) are registered as Seventh-day Adventists across four church administrative fields: Rwenzori Field, Southwestern Uganda Field, West Buganda Field, and Western Uganda Field. This region serves as the food and energy corridor for Uganda, supplying cities, including the capital Kampala, with bananas, Irish potatoes, milk, grains, timber, and charcoal due to its fertile plains, volcanic hills, and stable rainfall.
The influence of the Adventist message in the area is minimal. People’s lifestyle is characterised by the consumption of pork and other unclean animals, while those who avoid pork often rely on milk and other animal products from frequently medicated livestock. Few people own Bibles, as most are Roman Catholics.
Our missionary work
Faith Reporters aims to deliver the First Angel's Message to western Uganda through radio stations, social media content creators, billboards, community address systems especially in towns, posters and flyers. We believe it is more effective to engage with the population their favourite media platforms where they already are, especially given the limited time we have. Uganda is following Rwanda in implementing its Agenda 2028 for the Fifty-in-Five countries initiative.

Conclusion
The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it (Psalms 68:11)
“It is necessary that wise plans should be laid to secure the privilege of inserting articles into the secular papers; for this will be a means of awakening souls to see the truth. God will raise up men who will be qualified to sow beside all waters. God has given great light upon important truths, and it must come to the world” https://m.egwwritings.org/en/book/30.697#703
“We must take every justifiable means of bringing the light before the people. Let the press be utilized, and let every advertising agency be employed that will call attention to the work. This should not be regarded as nonessential. On every street corner you may see placards and notices calling attention to various things that are going on, some of them of the most objectionable character; and shall those who have the light of life be satisfied with feeble efforts to call the attention of the masses to the truth?” https://m.egwwritings.org/en/book/30.697#708
